A Sweater in Pieces and a Smackdown
I finished knitting it! Whoo! Mind you, it still needs blocking, seaming, the picot edging crocheted on and, the way it stretched, a nice trip in the dryer but WHOOO! I finished knitting it!
Notice the elegant blocking.. .
In other news, Typepad is so slow that I can barely post. Tara tagged me and one day I swear I'll get Typepad the 40 hours it needs to let me type it. It's making me crazy. So crazy that I'm not even going to try to fix that sentence. HURRY UP AND FIX THIS.
Hez sez: "Go Bluejay! Kick his butt! Send him packing! Napping in OUR yard. The gutty nerve."
(Bluejay upper right around 2:00 by green hose. Click to enbiggen.)
Gray and White Visiting Cat says "Zzzzzzzzzzzz."
Woot! Fantastic! There just might me some hope for MaryT ;-)
Crazy Blue Jay!

Awesome sweater, isn't that a great feeling to have finished something big like that? Can't wait to see how it looks all put together.
The NERVE of some kitties.

Woo Hoo! Finished Object pictures. Now, I feel the need to hurry up and get some things finished.
If you were anything like me though, the sweater would stay like that knit, but not "finished" for at least a year, maybe two. But, I know you're a better person/knitter than I, so I have hope.

Hey, but at least the knitting is done! Bummer that Typepad is STILL problematic. :( Dang, who's more nervy - the bluejay or the cat?!

We used to have a neighborhood cat who'd come and sit in the middle of the patio cleaning herself, while our three dogs went nuts in their run 10 feet away. Neighborhood cats have chutzpah.

Carrie- I was just about to tell you how elegant your blocking is.
Can't Hez chase the guy out of there?

Wow that was a lot of knitting! Great pic of the cat and bird.

Woohoo! That looks nice. Can't wait to see it all made up!

Yay! Sweater! I should send Cheddar over - he'd take care of the cat and the jay. He hates blue jays and interloper cats!

That is a beautiful sweater! Merlin would have already been over there to see that other cat off and cost us a fortune in vet's bills by the time he got back to the house.

WOW! Your pieces look great...
and you almost have a FO! I was so desperate to get a FO that I finally knit some socks.
You are very patient. I was so disgusted with Type pad that I just haven't posted.

Ah the kitty looks comfie and y'all aren't using that particular part of the property. heheheh
Congrats on the sweater. Looking forward to seeing it all together.

Great work on the pieces they look cool all spread out like that. Blue Jay is such an interesting name for a cat, but with those colors I can see why :) Tell Hez to share just a little of her shade ;)

Nice work on the sweater. It'll be lovely when it's done. The nerve of that cat. The nerve!

Two thumbs up on the blocking! It rivals mine!
Um, that cat has some pair on him/her to be not only lying in Hez' garden, but to allow the bluejay get so close...

Beautiful sweater, Carrie. I admire people who can knit. I tried to knit once - made a winter scarf for my brother - it looked loosy and it was so hard to wield those two needles. I do crochet, but that's only one thing-in-hand and not two.

Hey--congrats on finishing! (Well, not finishing, but finishing...)
Really looking forward to seeing the next steps.
(Does that motivate you to start them, or just serve as a reminder that all the fun parts are done?)

Ha ha, blue jays are so aggressive I wouldn't be surprised if it did peck that cat!
Although I can not imagine becoming skilled enough to do those cables, seeing the sweater in pieces makes me feel like I could possibly, maybe, someday knit a sweater. A totally plain garter stitch one.

That's a very brave blue jay!

Wow! In fact, double wow!! I just love cabling and am so pleased for you.

Wow, that's going to be one beautiful sweater!
Looks like that kitty cat better watch out. Those blue jays have pretty sharp beaks.

And to think I thought about switching my blog. Sheesh. Will stick with blogger.
Good luck with jury duty. I get called all the time - husband never - and have not seen the inside of a courtroom. Not good to be called when you are the sole source of food for your child though. I threatened to bring her if they didn't switch my dates and I'm telling you they were speechless.
